Rex and Rose Mary Walls have done some embarrassing things throughout The Glass Castle.
Write about a time you were really embarrassed by your parents. Explain.
Personally I think that I have done a very good job at preventing this by keeping my parents and friends as far as part as I possibly can. It just simplifies things so much. I think it's important to keep aspects of your life organised and it helps to prevent too many conversations starting that would better be left unsaid.
honestly this blog has allowed me to transcend reality itself and now I exist in a endless plain warped space where time is meaningless while im surrounded by god like entities.
This experience was with my aunt but I felt it belonged here. We had gone to a restaurant that we had never been to so I was excited to eat there. After ordering our foods and having talked for a bit the server arrived with our food. When my aunt cut into her steak she did not like how cooked it was cooked so she got very angry at the server and told him they should fire the chef! I was very embarrassed and just looked at my late while my father tried to calm her down. We gave the server a very large tip when we finished.
the times that come to mind is every time we go out to trips or see something cool, my dad always has to take 50 pictures of us, and even if we say no, he will end up taking pictures. people always look at us and its always so awkward.
I am never really embarrassed by anything my parents do. I have only really been embarrassed by my brother because he always whistles super loudly and even though he is really good at it, he only does it to piss me off. Over the years, my brother has gotten really good at knowing how to get me uncomfortable so I would leave him alone.
I do not think that my parents embarrass me in any huge way but my brother is extremely embarrassing because one time during a tournament where the money went to sick kids, the teams were representing countries in the world and we were England so anyways they had the national anthem playing for both teams and while the national anthem for England was playing my brother raced onto the soccer filed and tried to attack me! I had to push him off and then my parents sent him to the car for the rest of the game.
Well, I can not say that my parents really embarrass me. They are always welcoming and friendly towards my friends. However, my brother is a whole different story. For some reason, my brother used to get into all sorts of fights with my friends. Once he and my friend got into such a big fight, that after awhile, my friend tackled my brother to the ground. Over the years, my friends and brother have actually gotten along quite nicely. So, I am happy everyone is getting along.
My parents embarrass me all the time! Do they ever do the thing where they talk about you with their friends when you're right there. It's the worst and then I sorta just stand there quietly and nod my head. My parents are always calling me out with their friends like, Angela room is never clean and Angela won't stop biting her nails and Angela is a moody teen LIKE STOP TALKING ABOUT ME RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.
The time where my mom embarrassed me the most has to be the whole summer three years ago, when she was my soccer coach. This was embarrassing because when she would yell across the field to the players, it would be super annoying. It was at such a weird pitch and she did it WAY to much. I am just happy that I now play football and she has no idea how that sport works.
There are many times that my parents have embarrassed me in my life so far. One specific time that I can remember was in grade 4 when I did the variety show at my elementary school. My mom made it a huge deal that I was participating in it and invited pretty much my whole family to come and watch a routine that she had seen me perform about 10 times already. On stage all I could hear was her screaming and when I looked out into the crowd everyone was looking at her like she was crazy. Today she still talks about it like it's a life achievement even though I was only taking part in an elementary school variety show.
I don't have an embarrassing moment that I remember my parents being involved in. They would probably just often say something I wouldn't want them to and nudge them to tell them to stop. Sometimes we'd be in public and my dad would bump me into an object and I'd fall, but there really hasn't been a particular moment I remember.
One time that parents have embarrassed me is every single time my family and I go anywhere. My mom takes thousands of pictures every trip we go on, and she posts almost all of them to Facebook. She posts nice landscape pictures but also a bunch of embarrassing pictures of me. And she also posts on Instagram, which she just has to tag me in every picture so I have to remove it on every one.
Every time we go out somewhere, my mom always calls my name out loud, especially if I'm far away. Any time we go somewhere on vacation she takes hundreds of pictures of me without even telling and then she'll post it on Instagram and Facebook. She also likes to tell everyone my business, like if I show her something or tell her something I only want her to know she goes and tells everybody.
Honestly I feel like I purposely embarrass my mom more than she embarrasses me. I'm really close with my mom and she is pretty chill for the most part. It takes a lot for me to be embarrassed by her especially in front of my friends since they all know how close I am with my mom. My mom and I have a very sarcastic/funny relationship. It's almost like a game. We both embarrass each other jokingly. For example when my mom knows that I'm on Factime with one of my friends she will purposely begin to play some of her favorite banger at maximum volume and have a dance party right in back of me. I don't really see it as embarrassing but rather hilarious. To get back at her every time we go through a drive thru I make sure to connect my Bluetooth and play some real bangers/ extremely vulgar songs then proceed to sing along while incorporating some intense hand gestures. It always gets the people at the window dying of laughter.
My parents do not embarrass me mostly because they rarely talk to my friends. As a joke sometimes they yell the infamous "I love you" out the car window as a joke but it does not bother me since no one around is really paying attention to it. The only thing that they ever did that embarrassed me was when they bring up how when I was a toddler and used to mispronounce words.
There haven’t really been any particular times when my parents embarrassed me. They like to tease me a lot, and do things like asking for hugs in public. One thing that really ugs, though, is that they still insist on displaying this one picture of me as a baby, naked. Let me tell you, this picture resides in the entrance of my house for any and all company to see. No matter how much I try to cover or hide it, they still whip it out whenever there are people over.
My parents don't embarrass me much, but I can very vividly remember my mom embarrassing my in front of one of my friends. He was over for dinner for the first time and we were just having a casual conversation. I think she tried a little too hard to be cool and made me want to drop my fork. The following six words made me the most embarrassed I've ever been. "I saw this meme on Facebook". These were the words that embarrassed me more than ever before. I understand that she was either trying to be cool, or just being honest, but the truth is, Facebook memes are not funny. They never will be. RIP Facebook meds.
My parents don't embarrass me much, its just their style. But I remember once, maybe a month ago, my birthday was just around the corner and I had done somethings with my friends. As we finished my father had come to pick us up. My friends know that my Dad speaks both French and English perfectly. And as we got in the car, keep in mind that my friends don't really speak French, my Dad refused to speak to them in English. All my friends looked at me all funny, I was sooooo embarrassed...
My parents don’t embarrass me very often but this one time last year we were getting stuff for vacation and my mom coughed while drinking spat out water on me in the middle of the store and everyone was looking and of course my mom started dying for laughter while I’m sitting there covered in water/spit.
My parents don't embarrass me often, and that's mainly because I don't go places with them often. But, there was this one time a few years back, where my mom wanted me to go buy groceries with her, so I went with her. Little did I know, later that day while I was getting her something in one aisle, she would yell my name so loud for everyone to hear while she was looking for me, even though I was right there. She also doesn't just yell my name, she yells some embarrassing little nickname she has for me.
There is a lot of things that my parents have done that embarrassed me (mostly my mom) I mean I went to the butcher once and my mom was going to buy some meat and she started to fight with the butcher because he won't listen.
To be completely honest I don’t remember a time that my mom hasn’t embarassed me... everytime my friends are in the car my mom makes this high pitch voice saying hi and asks them how they are doing. It’s so embarassing it’s crazy. When I was really young playing hockey my mom use to shear me on. Well if you count screaming and yealing as encouragement. I only really realized how embarrasing it was after growing up and actually thinking about it.
My family embarrasses me a lot. So much that I have come up with different ways to get out of it. Usually I just walk away from them or I just end up embarrassing them. There was this one time my mom was trying to make fun of me joking in front of her friends and I ended up dissing her back and I got grounded. That was the only time I remember.
I remember when I was 7 and I was getting ready for another ringuette game. My whole team and I were getting ready in the locker room. My mom comes in and wishes us luck then starts telling the whole team how I was nervous for this game because we were playing the rival team. I was even the captain of that game! Why would I want anyone to know that I was really nervous! Why is my mom telling them that! Seven year old Karishma was traumatized.
literally every single day there is at least one moment my parents do something that I find embarrassing. I would say that if I needed to pick one instance of my mom embarrassing me in public it would have to be the time she was getting tims for me and a couple friends and when they got the order wrong she took matters into her own hands and stopped the car in the middle of the drive through to get out and walk around threw the front while exclaiming that it was the worst service she had ever received and that she would not be returning. That wasn't even the worst part because she left my friends and I in the car while all the other people behind us constantly honked until she came back. My mom is wild to say the least.
Personally I think that I have done a very good job at preventing this by keeping my parents and friends as far as part as I possibly can. It just simplifies things so much. DeleteThis is probably the most relatable blog yet. For the record, my room is a complete and utter disaster. Great blog.
